How to use Jaunts
Jaunts is a free travel itinerary planner. Forward your booking confirmation emails and Jaunts builds your day-by-day itinerary automatically. Here's how to use every feature.
Getting started
- Create a free account with your email address and a password. No credit card needed.
- Create your first trip — give it a name and optionally add travel dates. Jaunts can also infer dates from your bookings.
- Set a reminder to receive an email summary of your itinerary 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, or 2 weeks before you depart.
Adding bookings
There are four ways to add bookings to a trip:
- Forward an email (easiest): every trip has a unique email address — forward your booking confirmation to it and Jaunts extracts the details automatically, including from PDF attachments.
- Paste a confirmation: paste the text of a booking confirmation and Jaunts extracts the information for you to review and save.
- Add manually: quickly add activities like "Beach day" or "Dinner at Le Bistro" that don't have a confirmation.
- WhatsApp: send booking details to the Jaunts WhatsApp number in your own words and it's added to your trip.
Jaunts recognises over 20 booking types: flights, ferries, hotels, campsites, restaurants, theme parks, trains, buses and coaches, cruises, car hire, motorhome hire, holiday cottages and villas, parking, taxi transfers, show tickets, spa and activities, travel insurance, visa and entry requirements, and general activities.
Your itinerary
Your trip page shows your bookings in two views:
- Timeline view: a day-by-day breakdown with times, provider names, and locations. Hotel stays show check-in, each night, and checkout. Drive times between bookings and weather forecasts appear automatically.
- Map view: your trip plotted geographically with a route line, using your home location as the start and end point.
Jaunts also analyses your itinerary and highlights potential gaps — like a night without accommodation, or missing transport between two locations.
Sharing your trip
- Invite collaborators by email so they can view and add bookings. Everyone sees the same itinerary.
- Share a read-only link that anyone can view without an account. Personal details, booking references, and emails are never shown, and you can revoke the link at any time.
Exports and reminders
- Calendar export (ICS): import your bookings into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook.
- PDF export: download a clean, printable itinerary for offline use.
- Email to me: receive your full itinerary with PDF and calendar attachments.
- Trip reminders: get an email summary before your trip starts.
Splitting costs
Enable cost tracking on a trip to record who paid for what. Jaunts shows the total trip cost, each booking's cost, who paid what, and the minimum set of payments needed to settle up fairly between travellers. Non-GBP amounts are converted using European Central Bank exchange rates.
